Available for business and social functions year-round, the Center will accommodate groups up to 100 in understated elegance with the finest appointments. Five distinct rooms of varying sizes feature natural light and garden views. The handsome Laurel Room even has a fireplaceperfect for an inspired winter gathering.

Old Edwards Inn and Spa Announces Women’s Wellness Retreat in Conjunction with The Cleveland Clinic

The retreat will take place Sunday, September 10th through Thursday, September 14th, 2006. Full overnight packages (with meals) are available. Guests will experience five days of education and relaxation while learning about the latest in womens health, recommitting to a healthy lifestyle, and working to establish the ideal daily routine. This exclusive package also includes a pre-visit wellness consultation to customize each guests retreat experience allowing for specific desired results.

Daily schedules will include instructional and motivational talks with question and answer sessions, journaling classes, cardio fun-outs, yoga and a cooking demonstration with Chef Nate Waugaman. Ellen Mayer-Sabik M.D. is a staff cardiologist in The Cleveland Clinic Department of Cardiology with certifications from the American Board of Cardiology, National Board of Echocardiography and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She will discuss identifying the risk factor for heart disease and recognizing its symptoms in order to reduce the risks of coronary artery disease and heart attack. Mayer-Sabik holds a degree from Harvard University Medical School and has specialty training from The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Tanya Edwards M.D. is Medical Director of The Cleveland Clinics Center for Integrative Medicine Clinical Practice. She will address Integrative Therapies for Womens Health including the four leading medical issues unique to women and how to integrate alternative therapies with traditional medical care to improve results. She holds a degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and has specialty training from University of Cincinnati Medical Center/University Hospital, Michigan State University and Case Western Reserve University.
